Business Development
The Business Development team provides assistance to new and
existing companies looking to expand or relocate in Colorado. Business
Development Representatives provide a variety of technical assistance
services including assistance with site selection, research on economic
conditions and comparisons, and coordination with local and regional
economic development agencies and services.
Marketing activities are conducted nationwide to promote sectors of the Colorado economy which are growing and provide high quality jobs. Marketing activities include attendance at selected trade shows, company visits, cooperative marketing with local enterprise zones and community economic development councils and industry research.

- BioSciences and Emerging Industries program works with Colorado businesses, associations, universities, and others to encourage the growth and development of bioscience companies and other emerging industries.
- Business Retention Program assists local economic development organizations to assess the needs and barriers of existing business to ensure business survival or growth.
- Job Training programs assist new and existing businesses to train or retrain workers and improve their workplace skills.
- Business Incentive Programs.
- Enterprise Zones offer state tax credits for business investment, job creation, and job training in designated areas of the state.
- Business Finance Programs. OEDIT's Business Finance Program manages a variety of programs to address financing gaps for growing businesses, and provides links to other resources.
- Field Representatives. Business Development Representatives located in outlying areas of the state provide hands-on assistance to companies seeking location opportunites in their regions. Business Development Representatives also act as liaisons with state assistance and regulatory programs and local communities.

- The Colorado Data Book is published annually by OED and includes statistics and comparisons of key indicators to evaluate Colorado's economic climate and to provide information of special interest to the business community.
- Business Climate at a Glance provides an overview of Colorado's high rankings, technology industries, labor force, taxes, incentive programs, and other topics.
- The Colorado Economic Opportunity Study analyzes short- and long-term industry opportunities for Colorado's counties.
