Webolutions continues its contributions to Denver's business community as University of Denver alumnus and Webolutions Director of New Media Strategies Mike Hanbery visits his alma mater Tuesday, February 21, 2012.
By invitation from the University of Denver's Suitts Career Management Center at the Daniels College of Business, Mr. Hanbery will conduct a graduate student workshop titled, Marketing the “You” Experience.
"We are excited Mike can participate," said Lucy Chused, Assistant Director at Suitts. "DU loves when our alumni return to Daniels to educate the next generation of business leaders."
In addition to tactical tips for using Twitter, LinkedIn and blogging in career search, attendees will understand:
- The risks and opportunities of how we define ourselves in the marketplace
- The difference between how recruiters should use social media and how they actually use it
- Relationships—Developing them using online tools, how to apply quantitative measurement of them toward a specific goal
- The differences in cultures among major social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) and what that means to career search
- The answer to, “Should I friend my boss/recruiter/etc on Facebook?”
Mr. Hanbery is a dual alumnus of DU. He holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Mass Communications and Political Science and an Executive MBA from Daniels. He is a past Board Member for the Daniels Executive MBA Alumni Association and adjunct faculty member at University College. Mike remains an involved DU alumnus and frequent speaker on social media and marketing trends.
