We love to read, and we know that a lot of you do, too. So, naturally we had to create the Dom and Jane Book Club.
Each month we will pick at least one book that we really like, and invite you to try it. And, to help you out, we've partnered with our friends at all three locations of The Tattered Cover Book Store to make it easy for you. Look for the Dom and Jane Book Club shelf at The Tattered Cover, and you'll find that month's selection at 20% off!
Not only that, but we'll give away ten copies every month. All you have to do is read the review below, and, if it sounds like a book you'd like, fill out the entry form and click "submit."
The current book club selection is:
"Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury

The National Endowment for the Arts, along with
the Institute of Museum and Library Services as
well as Arts Midwest, is behind a great idea called
The Big Read. They have selected a classic for
everyone to read, so we decided we would jump
right on board.
The book is “Fahrenheit 451.” No,
for those of you too young to remember, it has
nothing to do with Michael Moore. This is Ray
Bradbury’s classic tale from the 50s, where
firemen don’t put out fires…they actually
start them? Why? To burn books. The title of the
book comes from the temperature at which paper
will burst into flames.
For years this book was the poster child for
anti-censorship, but the truth is, Bradbury wrote
this as a commentary on television. That’s
right, it’s more anti-tv than anti-censorship.
In any event, it is a terrific tale of one man’s
desire to fight back against THE MAN. All these
years later, it survives with as much power as
ever, and is a quick read that will actually influence
your thinking.
Every so often we like to select a classic for
the Dom and Jane Book Club. If you haven’t
ready this one, it should go to the front of the
stack for you.
Look for it on the Dom and Jane Book Club shelf
at all three locations of The Tattered Cover:
East Colfax at Elizabeth, Lodo, and Highlands
Ranch.
