Marketing Yourself: Social Media and Your Personal Brand
Mike Hanbery - 2.4.2013 5:30 PM
“The modern man always knows what to do,” according to Denver’s GQ Barber Lounge owner and Guy Talk Radio host Bill Chrismer. Webolutions Director of New Media Strategies Mike Hanbery, dropped in to Bill’s GQ Barber Lounge Guy Talk Radio at Denver’s 710 AM KNUS studios to help the “modern man” make sense of today’s social media landscape and what it can mean to his personal brand.
(In truth, it works the same way for women.)
This two-part series helps the modern man (or woman) understand the current Internet landscape and how to use social media to present himself (or herself) in the best possible light.
Just as businesses do, individuals have a personal brand in constant development. This brand is determined by everyone who touches it on an ongoing basis. Do you over-share on LinkedIn? Complain on Facebook? Or do you pretend social media doesn’t exist? Any of these behaviors can harm your personal brand. Conversely, taking active, strategic ownership of your professional image and developing a positive online presence can position any person as approachable, a thought leader, etc.
Have you examined your personal brand online? Are you someone you would want to know better?
Mike and Bill discuss:
- What content is most appropriate and advantageous to share on different Internet social networks
- Tools to monitor and maintain your personal brand on social media
- How to keep your social media marketing in control and in “shape”
- How prospective clients and hiring managers use social media to thin the herd
- Much more
Please enjoy the podcasts:
