2 Simple Ways To Increase Your Conversion Rates
Patrick Yuan - 3.30.2012 4:00 PM
If you are getting people to your website through Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or any number of Internet Marketing strategies but your website isn’t converting, fret not! If your website is old and outdated it may be time to have it redesigned, but if you don’t want to go to those lengths to increase your conversions there are little things that can be done. Here are two simple steps you can take to increase conversions without drastically redesigning your site.
- Make sure your content is unique, trustworthy, and concise.
When people land on a website they want to see the information they are looking for in the first few seconds or they will look somewhere else. This means that your content has got to be fresh and pointed at your target market. If the last time you updated your content was over a year ago or you wrote it without the conversion funnel in mind, it is time to consider rewriting your content.
From square one emphasize what it is that you have to offer, what is your unique selling point? What is it that makes your company better than your competitors? By highlighting your strengths right off the bat people will be inclined to continue reading. If your content is unique and appeals to your target market it should also be trustworthy, your customers may be on the brink of converting but they may turn away at the last second because they don’t want to be scammed. While internet purchases have become much more prevalent, people are still hesitant to spend their money on websites that are not well trusted. While having the necessary information is important to making your site trustworthy, make sure that your content is informative yet concise. Don’t lose your conversions by overburdening them with too much information.
- Change up your Calls to Action (CTA).
If you have been trying the same CTA without much success this is an easy change, here are a few ways you can do to improve them. Make Your CTAs very clear. Use words like “Sign Up,” “Contact,” “Request,” or “Download” in your call to action. Once you have a good call to action, make sure it is clickable, and make sure your customers know your CTA is a link by making it stand out from the rest of your text. If it is in your content then make sure it is a different color and possibly underlined to draw attention towards it.
Positioning of your CTA is also very important. For buttons, make sure they are above the fold and near the content in a place where your clients are going to see them. When you load this blog you can clearly see our see our CTA is directly to the right of the content, along with a phone number to make it as easy as possible for people to convert. If your call to action is in your text make sure it is placed logically, either placing it after your unique selling proposition in your body or at the end of the content.
These are only a few tactics you can take to increase your conversion rates. If you want to share other tactics please feel free to post them in the comments. If you’ve tried these tactics and would like to increase your conversion rates even more, feel free to contact Webolutions today. Hey look at that, a CTA!
